Almira Farmers Warehouse - News

6/16 am ........................ the cash market shows signs of new crop ......................... one would cosider this a passive retreat with the value of the dollar on the increase.............................technical selling in chicago seems to have put a damper on this for the present, maybe these specs are actually turning to a short position after being long for the past few weeks.........SWW crop rating are the lowest since 2002/03, this being the only bright spot available today..........jb

6/17 am .....................chicago july futures has lost one dollar since 6/2/09......................a move in july below 5.63 could trigger more selling......................expect plenty of chop ahead with many variable affecting this market  (i.e.) crc, new crop conditions, weather, u.s. dollar value. production estimates, export volumes, ETC............................jb

6/18 am ................little to no country selling at these levels ......................... start watching for June 30 plantings report from the USDA regarding corn and beans ..................... one year ago SWH bids for Aug delivery were $9/bu ................ wheat's underlying fundamentals are very bearish leading to no commercial buying interests ......................... jb

6/19 am ...................cash SWW seems to have firmed up on new crop anticipation and some offshore business................still, I would expect continued sell-off in the chicago futures .................wheat futures are struggling against plentifull supplies, although some quality issues are starting to arise ...................these June rains have been vital for those PNW crops struggling with under average percipitaion, and the cooler weather is a big help .............. on a lighter note: in 1910 father's day was first recognized in of all places SPOKANE, WA.//////// what that means is that Almira Farmers Whse. Co. has been around longer than FATHER'S DAY.......................congrats to the dads............................jb
